About Us
About MeMy first experience knocking on doors was with my mother before I started school. We would start very early in the morning picking sweet corn, loading the truck and driving to Sarnia. Once there we would scout a high school looking for a couple of young boys who were obviously not interested in attending school that day. My mom would put a dozen of fresh sweet corns in a basket and away the boys would go. After watching them for a day or two, I told my mother, “I can do this!” With some apprehension on my mother’s part and a little fear on my part, away I went! It wasn’t long before realizing that people were very friendly and receptive and somewhat shocked at my young age. Nearly everyone bought that fresh sweet corn from the Little Guy, and I was able to keep up with the Big Guys. Thanks Mom! |

While in high school, I helped my father build Petrolia Packers. It was a smaller provincially inspected plant, nearly up to federal specs, and a showcase for anyone either rebuilding or building a new plant. My father and I were both very proud. I worked at Petrolia Packers until high school graduation.
To gain more experience, I took a position at J.M Schneider, the main plant in Kitchener. After several months I was fortunate enough to be chosen for their Management Trainee Program. This allowed me to train and experience all aspects of the Meat Industry including sausage making, curing, smoked meats, and specialty products.
In 1977, Wayne Faulkner and I opened a successful freezer meat company in Ottawa. We were extremely busy and built the business from new to having 1.6$ Million per year in sales.
In 1986 I moved to London, and took a position with Meridian Foods. They were the largest residential providers of meat and seafood in North America, having 30 offices across Canada. Within a short time I became a National Sales Trainer. After training sales staff in many of the offices coast to coast I realized that the business was well received, and I can do this!
Since that time, I have been in the boxed meat business. I have watched children of my customers grow up, get married and I am proud that am now supplying the third generation with quality meats and seafood.
Over the years many have asked me for a website. I’ve finally taken the time and also added 350 new products to better serve our many existing customers and YOU!
